UFC 109 Results

Ok, how'd I do?....

Randy Couture def. Mark Coleman (sub 2) - Ugh. As in ugh-ly. Coleman looked ridiculous in this fight. He was never in it. He should most definitely retire. If you get submitted by Randy Couture, you don't belong in the UFC. Sure, Randy won, but like I said earlier, this does nothing for his career. Coleman looked bad more than Couture looked good, you know? The UFC may try to parlay this into a title shot, but it would be a sham of a justification. Randy need sot beat someone in the top five to deserve that. (1-0)

Chael Sonnen def. Nate Marquardt (unanimous) - What happened? How did Sonnen dominate so easily? Marquardt didn't seem to have an answer for Sonnen's wrestling skills when we've heard from Sonnen himself that that was not the case when they trained together a while back. Not sure what the deal was here, but this REALLY hurts Marquardt's chances at a rematch with Anderson Silva. (1-1)

Paulo Thiago def. Mike Swick (sub 2) - Man, did Swick disappoint. He hasn't been the same fighter since his first loss. He doesn't let his hands go anymore and appears gunshy. He used to win by throwing punches in bunches, but now seems convinced he's Chuck Liddell and can win if he just lands one punch. He needs to snap out of this funk or he'll drop like a stone in the rankings. (1-2)

Demien Maia def. Dan Miller (unanimous) - The fans were booing, but this wasn't that bad a fight. Maia pulled it off. Don;t think this will get him a title shot soon, though. He needs to be more dominant. Look for him to fight Swick next, perhaps. (2-2)

Matt Serra def. Frank Trigg (KO 1) - Someone PLEASE send Trigg away. PLEASE. He sucks. End of story. (3-2)

Mac Danzig def. Justin Buchholz (unanimous) - Barely watched it. Danzig avoids the chopping block for now. Look for Buchholz to disappear, though. (4-2)

Melvin Guillard def. Ronnys Torres (unanimous) - I'd have to watch this fight again. I had Torres winning the first two rounds. Either way, I thought he looked pretty good. (4-3)

Rob Emerson def. Phillipe Nover (unanimous) - Didn't see it. (5-3)

Phil Davis def. Brian Stann (unanimous) - This was a beatdown. Stann was overwhelmed. Davis looked great, but not flawless. He had Stann mounted but couldn't finish and Stann could have easily escaped to a better position had he kept his wits. Too bad we didn't see the scores. I had it 30-25. (5-4)

Chris Tuchscherer def. Tim Hague (majority) - Didn't see it, but another loss does not bode well for Hague. At least this one went beyond 7 seconds and reached a decision. Hague apparently came on strong at the end but by then had already given up the first two rounds. Still, one judge gave Hague a 10-8 third, resulting in a the majority decision. (5-5)

Joey Beltran def. Rolles Gracie (TKO 2) - WTF??? Gracie loked great for the first round and then tired out and was USELESS. His stand-up was ATROCIOUS. It looked like Gracie was gonna submit Beltran in the first 30 seconds, but then he just went retarded. This guy has GOT to disappear. (5-6)

5-6...should have bet with my head and not my heart...

UFC 109 Predictions

Ok, so UFC 109 is this weekend - better get my picks in so you can all mock me later, right?

Randy Couture vs Mark Coleman - Oh man, this is what it's come to, eh? Sure, it's a fight between legends, but it'll do nothing for two guys who are supposedly looking to make themselves relevant again. Who cares if an old guy beats an old guy? How does that move you up the rankings? Randy has more to lose than Coleman, that's for sure. I'll pick Randy to win. Look for the loser to contemplate retirement.

Nate Marquardt vs Chael Sonnen - I don't see how Sonnen has earned this, but if the UFC wants to give him a push, this is certainly one way to do it. Marquardt is super talented and can beat anybody if he puts things together. I'll pick Marquardt.

Mike Swick vs Paulo Thiago - This could be the fight of the night. Expect these two to go fast and furious. Thiago has been impressive, but I like Swick too much to bet against him. Here's hoping he rebounds from his poor showing against Dan Hardy.

Demien Maia vs Dan Miller - Both of these guys are solid and have submission skills, but Maia is super dangerous on the ground and has beaten better fighters. If it gets there, look for him to eventually sink in a submission. Miller has to play it smart if he hopes to get the W. If Maia wins, look for him to get a title shot soon, possibly right after Marquardt.

Matt Serra vs Frank Trigg - Another battle between fighters who are looking at their best days in the rear view mirror. I can't believe Trigg is back. How many chances can the UFC give this guy? He has zero drawing power these days. Sure, he might beat the smaller Serra, but what does that do for the UFC? Here's hoping Serra gets the submission and Trigg retires for good.

Mac Danzig vs Justin Buchholz - Danzig is a fine fighter but just hasn't lived up to his billing. He won TUF easily due to his superior experience (it wasn't fair, really) but that hasn't translated into much in the big show. He has lost his last 3 fights and 5 of his last 7. He hasn't beaten anyone of consequence (except maybe Mark Bocek). If he loses tomorrow, look for his name in the next round of UFC cuts. Fortunately for Danzig, I think he'll actually pull it off.

Melvin Guillard vs Ronnys Torres - Guillard had better knock Torres out in a hurry or he's in trouble. If this fight goes to the ground, it's over. I don't know much about Torres, but he has a sick record and can submit you in a variety of ways. Guillard has proven he knows jack about the ground game. I'm picking Torres in his UFC debut.

Phillipe Nover vs Rob Emerson - Normally, I'd pick Nover in a heartbeat, but he's been injured while Emerson has been amassing experience. Emerson was useless on TUF but has since shown some significant improvement and powerful hands. This is a hard one to pick. Nover is probably the favourite, but I'll pick Emerson.

Brian Stann vs Phil Davis - This fight features a couple of guys with heavy hands. It could end early, but Davis is also a proven wrestler and may choose to take it to the ground. If so, look for him to get the win. Stann has way more experience, though, and may be calmer than the newcomer Davis. Tough call, but I guess I'll take Stann.

Tim Hague vs Chris Tuchscherer - I don't like the Canadian's chances, especially coming off his 7 second KO loss last time out. I imagine Tuchscherer will win, but I won't bet against the Canadian guy. I'll pick Hague in an upset.

Rolles Gracie vs Joey Beltran - Beltran has more experience, but never EVER bet against a man named Gracie. I'll pick the inexperienced Rolles.

Ok, let's see how I do!

UFC 105 Results

Yeah, yeah, I know: that was SO two events ago - but I have been super busy and didn't get around to putting in my picks or discuss the event, so... But, you know, I did make some quick picks via email to a friend of mine, so let's discuss:

Randy Couture def. Brandon Vera (unanimous) - I had picked Couture. I thought it would go much as it did - since Vera was much taller and had a significant reach advantage, I expected Couture to take the same approach as he did against Gonzaga - just hug him up aganst the fence and squeak out the win. He did. Vera got in a few good shots in the second which won him the round, but Couture dictated the tempo in the first and third and the ref let him. Had the ref separated them more often, it might have been a different result, but... Vera was upset by the decision, but, geez, man - move your ass. You can't be pinned for 3/4 of the fight and expect to have made an impression. (1-0)

Hardy def. Swick (unanimous) - I had picked Swick. He got stunned early and didn't let his hands go as much as I thought he would. I expected a trade war at some point with Swick getting the big shot, but it just didn't happen. Swick seemed out of step for most of the fight and Hardy was able to counter punch effectively. He earned the decision, though I can't say the same for a title shot. Hardy hasn't faced anyone of established significant calibre (Swick is still new to 170) so why get the GSP fight? You'd think Hardy would have to dethrone Fitch or Silva or Koscheck first. Or even Parysian or Diaz for Pete's sake! Sure, Davis is a tough guy, but he wasn't exactly getting love from the UFC either in terms of marquee match-ups. (1-1)

Bisping def. Kang (TKO 2) - I had Kang, figuring he'd find a way to submit the Brit. It looked good early, with Kang dominating the first and even putting Bisping down with a solid punch, but that all disappeared in the second. Not sure if conditioning was a factor, but Kang was a different man in the second round and Bisping put him away with some pretty straight forward ground and pound. A disappointing loss for Kang. (1-2)

Brown def. Wilks (TKO 3) - I can't believe I picked Wilks. I quite like Brown, but I thought he'd be susceptible to submissions. Wilks never really got the chance. It was close at times, but Brown is a tough mutha and took it to Wilks. Good for Brown. (1-3)

Pearson def. Riley (TKO 2) - I picked Pearson and he didn't let me down. It was hard to decide what to make of him after the TUF competition where he looked so good to start and then kinda faded (though he won the show by the narrowest of margins). He looked good here, though. Big win over a game opponent. (2-3)

Hathaway def. Taylor (unanimous) - I picked Taylor. I'd have to see this to believe it. Taylor's a tough guy and it would take a tough guy to decision him. (2-4)

Etim def. Gugerty (sub 2) - I picked Etim. He's a very skilled guy and I didn't know much about Gugerty (didn't have time to research). Would like to see this one. (3-4)

Osipczak def. Riddle (TKO 3) - I picked Riddle. Would like to se this one, too. Both of these guys show flashes of brilliance but are inconsistent. Both likeable guys. (3-5)

Siver def. Kelly (TKO 2) - I picked Kelly who is a tough mammajamma, but Siver is impressive. Gonan keep my eye on this guy. (3-6)

Gustafsson def. Hamman (KO 1) - I picked Gustafsson who had an impressive record. Man, was this ever a knockout from hell. Look for this guy to be back in the UFC soon. (4-6)

Winner def. Delgado (KO 1) - I picked Winner, who has been impressive, while Delgado is talented but flawed. Winner nearly toook Delgado's head off with a monster shot that had Delgado in dreamland before his head hit the mat. Wow. (5-6)

So 5-6 on picks off the top of my head. Not sure I would have picked differently had I had time to think about it, so I'll have to take the heat.

UFC 103 Results

Ok, how'd I do?

Vitor Belfort def. Rich Franklin (KO 1) - Although I had been pulling for Franklin and pegged him to win a decision, I could sense he was gonna get run over very early in the fight. There was this sense that this main event wasn't going to live up to the hype. Sometimes you can almost feel it - that the fight is going to end quickly and in a disappointing fashion. I don't say disappointing here because Franklin lost, but because of the way the fight ended. I mean, there really wasn't any action, and then, like GSP v Serra I, the fighter gets hit with a weird, top-of-the-head kind of glancing blow that stuns him enough that he's on the road to sleepyland. Did the fight make Belfort seem more dangerous? Not really, because he didn't really dominate or get to show his stuff. It was...unsatisfying. (0-1)

Junior Dos Santos def. Mirko Cro Cop (sub 3) - I'm officially done with Cro Cop. And he's done with MMA, as far as I can tell. He may still show up and get paid, but he shows very little heart or effort. And where are his legendary skills? I mean, he spends half his time backing up and pushing his opponent away. He rarely unloads and when he does he tends to miss. He seems to be intimidated by bigger more aggressive opponents. I get the sense he should try dropping to light heavytweight. Dos Santos looked ok, but I'm not buying into his hype yet. (1-1)

Paul Daley def. Martin Kampmann (KO 1) - This was a pretty massive upset. Kampmann was supposed to fight Mike Swick for the #1 contender's spot, but instead he gets new kid Daley and promptly sees his title hopes derailed. He won't get GSP anytime soon after that performance. Swick may actually have backed into the slot. Look for Daley to get a push and face another big name soon. (1-2)

Josh Koscheck def. Frank Trigg (KO 1) - And the UFC signed Trigg to a multiple fight contract? I bet they're second-guessing that decision now. Trigg got smoked and it'll take a big performance in his next fight to earn any credibility back, as far as I'm concerned. He wasn't exactly well-rounded back in the day, and now, at his age, he's practically a relic. I would love to see Koscheck and Matt Hughes go at it, if only to see one of them lose. :P It would be a great fight, though. (2-2)

Tyson Griffin def. Hermes Franca (TKO 2) - Please get Hermes Franca out of the UFC. That performance was pathetic. Was he high? With that purple hair, you never know. He basically didn't show up. I assume he was looking to counter in the first because he hardly threw a punch. The second started off better, but he still looked out of it, leaving himself completely exposed for the jab that led to the end. Terrible. (3-2)

UNDERCARD

Efrain Escudero def. Cole Miller (KO 1) - I was surprised by this result, and I think Miller was, too. Miller is a better fighter than that and he just got caught. I got the sense he knew right away he had blown a fight he expected to win. (3-3)

Tomasz Drwal def. Drew McFedries (sub 2) - McFedries may have dynamite in his hands, but he had oil in his lungs. No stamina whatsoever. As expected, once Drwal survived the first 2 minutes, he was in the clear. The rest was academic. (4-3)

Jim Miller def. Steve Lopez (TKO 2) - Didn't exactly end as expected. Lopez's shoulder looked pretty nasty afterwards. Shame to lose by injury like that. (5-3)

Nik Lentz def. Rafaello Oliveira (unanimous) - Lentz pulled it off though it was in doubt for a while. (6-3)

Rick Story def. Brian Foster (sub 1) - Weird finish with Story winning by arm triangle from within the guard. Missed most of this fight though apparently it was a doozy. (7-3)

Eliot Marshall def. Jason Brilz (split) - One of two fights not shown, I think. Sounds like it might have been a dull one with Marshall squeaking uot the decision. (8-3)

Vladimir Matyushenko def. Igor Pokrajac (unanimous) - The other one we didn't see. (9-3)

Rafael Dos Anjos def. Rob Emerson (unanimous) - Emerson is a nice guy but I don't think he belongs in the UFC. Dos Anjos looked decent and has likely earned a reprieve. (10-3)

Whoa: 10-3! That's pretty impressive. :) Maybe I can get that analyst's job after all!

Entertaining event. It didn't look like much on paper, but it delivered some good fights with a variety of interesting finishes.

UFC 103 Predictions

Ok, prediction time again. Let's see if I can do better than on the Fight Night this week.

Rich Franklin vs. Vitor Belfort

Belfort is making his much-anticipated return to the UFC. The "Phenom" is trying to recapture some of his previous glory, but the UFC is not making it easy for him. Franklin may not seem super dangerous, but you can't knock the fact that he wins. Sure, he looked bad against Anderson Silva (twice) but who hasn't? The Dan Henderson fight was close, and Hendo certainly didn't dominate Franklin. Can Vitor knock out Franklin? I don't see it. As a result, I see Franklin getting a decision win.

Mirko Cro Cop vs. Junior Dos Santos

Dos Santos has looked dangerous while Cro Cop has been lacklustre to say the least in his UFC fights. As always, if Cro Cop can get the KO, he wins, but if it goes to a decision, I wouldn't bet on him. Hate to say it, but I'll take the younger Dos Santos to get the nod and the questions to heat up as to the relevance of Cro Cop in the UFC.

Martin Kampmann vs. Paul Daley

Don't know much about Daley. He's taking the fight on short notice, replacing the injured Mike Swick. Kampmann has been impressive, except in his loss to Marquardt. At welterweight? I'll take Kampmann nine times out of ten - except against GSP.

Josh Koscheck vs. Frank Trigg

I can't believe I'm gonna do this. I'm taking Koscheck. The guy comes off as a complete douche, but he's younger and faster than Trigg and I see Trigg getting a rough welcome in his UFC return. Trigg will be used as a stepping stone after this.

Tyson Griffin vs. Hermes Franca

Can't say I have much love for Franca after his positive drug test. Griffin has been impressive. Good speed and big heart. I'll take Griffin.

UNDERCARD

Efrain Escudero vs. Cole Miller - Efrain is undefeated but Miller is a tall, smart guy and has beaten some big names while Escudero is unproven. I'm picking Miller.

Drew McFedries vs. Tomasz Drwal - McFedries is dangerous as hell...for one round. Then he runs out of gas. Drwal is dangerous as hell, too, with many short fights on his resume, including some submissions. I'll take Drwal by submission in a short one.

Jim Miller vs. Steve Lopez - Don't know much about Lopez, other than he's been out of action for a while and this appears to be his UFC debut. That means nerves. That means a win for the more experienced Miller.

Rafaello Oliveira vs. Nik Lentz - Who? Oliveira has an impressive record, but Lentz has the better fight experience, I'd say. I'll pick Lentz.

Rick Story vs. Brian Foster - Foster has a good record, but Story has been a champ and has fought in the UFC at least once. I'll take Story.

Eliot Marshall vs. Jason Brilz - I like Marshall. Seemed like a decent talented guy on TUF. Brilz has a crazy record, though and has beaten some impressive names. This is tough. Marshall is much taller and should enjoy a reach advantage. Both are submission guys. Both have UFC experience. Against my better judgement, I'm gonna pick Marshall 'cause I like him.

Vladimir Matyushenko vs. Igor Pokrajac - Both guys have great records, but Vlad has faced the tougher guys and has been inside the octagon. I'll pick Matyushenko.

Rob Emerson vs. Rafael Dos Anjos - The loser may be out of the UFC. Or, rather, should be. Dos Anjos has lost both of his UFC fights, while Emerson has a less than impressive record and is getting face time thanks to his TUF appearance. Sure, he won a couple of UFC fights, but not impressively and has been dominated more often than not. I'll pick the unknown Dos Anjos.

Holy crap that's a lot of fights. Thirteen! I can't imagine ALL of the prelims will be shown in the one hour pre-PPV free telecast on Spike. It's a good move by the UFC, though.

UFC 99 Results

UFC 99 was a so-so event, with the card being one of the least exciting in recent memory. Even with the return of Cro Cop, this was a somewhat sub-par card, exacerbated by the 3pm ET start time.

Ok, let's see how I did on predictions.

Rich Franklin def Wanderlei Silva (Unanimous decision)

"My money’s on: Franklin. Wanderlei has crazy power, but not much reach. Franklin is younger, faster and smarter and will figure out a way to neutralize the disco-loving freak."

Sounds like I was pretty much right on. Franklin found a way to avoid Wanderlei's power and get the decision.

Cain Velasquez def. Cheick Kongo (Unanimous decision)

"My money’s on: Kongo. Boooooooring."

Thank goodness Kongo lost. I'm pretty sick of his dull fights and even in defeat he bored me. Velasquez overcame some pretty heavy shots by Kongo and took the big man down at will. Sure, it wasn't exciting, but if Velasquez can improve his game, he ought to be more exciting than the Frenchman.

Mike Swick def. Ben Saunders (TKO - Rd 2)

"My money’s on: Swick. I see an entertaining fight ending with Swick knocking Saunders on his ass."

Yup - got this one right on, too. This would have been a pretty big win for Saunders and a pretty devastating loss for Swick. With this win behind him, Swick can now look forward to bigger opponents.

Dan Hardy def. Marcus Davis (Split decision)

"My money’s on: Davis. Hardy will give him a run for his money, but Davis will win if he can get inside or take Hardy down. If he wins, hopefully the UFC will give the ageing Davis a real name opponent before he retires!"

I should have had this right on, too. Davis had this fight won, but lost it when he inexplicably gave up top position to attempt an ankle lock. At that point Hardy took top position, punished Davis and won the round. Without question, that was the turning point. This loss really hurts Davis who had an otherwise stellar UFC record. A loss against a mid-level guy like Hardy pretty much spoils any chance Davis had of fighting top flight opposition before he retires.

Spencer Fisher def. Caol Uno (Unanimous decision)

"My money’s on: Fisher. Look for him to start moving up to the top of the ladder after this one. The UFC has denied this guy’s talent for too long."

Right on again. The most boring fight of the night, probably, but Fisher deservedly got the nod.

Mirko Cro Cop Filipovic def. Mostapha Al Turk (TKO - Rd 1)

"My money’s on: Cro Cop. Barely. This could be another boring fight if the larger Al Turk takes Cro Cop down, but if it stays standing, Cro Cop could deliver a highlight finish or at least win on points via strikes. This is definitely the iffy fight of the night."

Cro Cop did provide a brutal victory, but not without controversy. How the ref missed the fact Al Turk had been poked is beyond me. Even if he didn't see it, Al Turk was clearly wounded by something other than a strike. Cro Cop is under no obligation to give his opponent any quarter, but the sportsmanlike thing to do would have been to back off.

So 4-2 on the main card. Not bad.

Other matches:

Terry Etim def. Justin Buchholz (Sub - Rd 2) – Go that.

Dennis Siver def. Dale Hartt (Sub - Rd 1) – Got that.

Paul Taylor def. Peter Sobotta (Unanimous decision) – Got that.

Paul Kelly def. Rolando Delgado (Unanimous decision) – Got that.

Denis Stojnic def. Stefan Struve (Sub - Rd 2) – Got that. I wanna see this Struve kid.

John Hathaway def. Rick Story (Unanimous decision) – Got that.

So 6-0 on the undercard - sweet! 10-2 for the night. Wow. I must be psychic.

A lot of the undercard fights went the distance which suggests they weren't very exciting. Like I said - not a fantastic card nor event.

Next up is UFC 100 - without a doubt the biggest card in recent memory if not UFC history. Stay tuned for my predictions!

UFC 99 - Preview

This weekend, the UFC travels to Cologne, Germany for what ought to be a very entertaining card.

Rich Franklin vs Wanderlei Silva (195lbs)

This catch weight fight features two guys who need to win. There’s a reason this card is dubbed “The Comeback”. The winner will see their stock rise and perhaps even earn a title shot, whereas the loser will be facing retirement questions.

Silva is on his way down to middleweight (185 lbs) while Franklin has already started his transition to the light heavyweight division (205 lbs). If Silva can pull off the upset, he may very well get a title shot against bitter rival Anderson Silva, thanks in no small part to the fact that every other middleweight seems to be powerless against Silva. (Silva is like the Tiger Woods of that division - everyone is waiting for a serious challenger to appear from the wilderness.) If Franklin wins, he has de-throned a legend and puts himself in the light heavyweight title mix (if he wasn’t there already). The light heavyweight division is stacked, but title shots seem to be thrown around like tic tacs (Mauricio Rua…I’m looking in your direction…) so Franklin could easily see himself in a main event in three months or so.

My money’s on: Franklin. Wanderlei has crazy power, but not much reach. Franklin is younger, faster and smarter and will figure out a way to neutralize the disco-loving freak.

Cheick Kongo Vs. Cain Velasquez (205 lbs)

This fight could be the worst of the night if Kongo stays true to form. Despite wins, he probably hasn’t had a title shot because, quite frankly, he’s boring as hell. If he sits on Velasquez for three rounds, he may very well get the win, but a title shot? I dunno. I sense the UFC doesn’t like his style, either.

My money’s on: Kongo. Boooooooring.

Mike Swick Vs. Ben Saunders (170 lbs)

A battle of tall lanky guys that could end quick. Both of these guys seem to enjoy throwing. I wasn’t impressed with Saunders on the reality show, but he’s been looking pretty good since. I’m a fan of Swick’s though, and he needs this win.

My money’s on: Swick. I see an entertaining fight ending with Swick knocking Saunders on his ass.

Marcus Davis Vs. Dan Hardy (170 lbs)

This could be fight of the night. I like Davis’ style, but I like Hardy’s reach. Hardy has proven he has power, too, but Davis has heart. We’ve seen Davis get knocked on his butt and come back for the W; I don’t know if Hardy can do the same.

My money’s on: Davis. Hardy will give him a run for his money, but Davis will win if he can get inside or take Hardy down. If he wins, hopefully the UFC will give the ageing Davis a real name opponent before he retires!

Spencer Fisher Vs. Caol Uno (155 lbs)

Where the heck has Uno been? He ain’t the fighter he used to be, but maybe he’s still got some juice left in him. Spencer is proven winner, though, and can withstand the best opponents can dish out.

My money’s on: Fisher. Look for him to start moving up to the top of the ladder after this one. The UFC has denied this guy’s talent for too long.

Mirko Cro Cop Filipovic Vs. Mostapha Al Turk (205 lbs)

Talk about a must win. Cro Cop’s rep has taken a beating in the past coupe of years after losses to Gabriel Gonzaga (in spectacular fashion) and Cheick Kongo (boooooring). If the UFC is ever to see the dream card of Cro Cop fighting for a belt, he has to start wining fast. Al Turk is clearly a sacrificial lamb, but so was Gonzaga once upon a time.

My money’s on: Cro Cop. Barely. This could be another boring fight if the larger Al Turk takes Cro Cop down, but if it stays standing, Cro Cop could deliver a highlight finish or at least win on points via strikes. This is definitely the iffy fight of the night.

Other matches:

Terry Etim Vs. Justin Buchholz (155 lbs) – don’t know much about Buchholz, but Etim has impressed. I’m picking Etim.

Dennis Siver Vs. Dale Hartt (155 lbs) – Going with experience. That means Siver over Hartt.

Paul Taylor Vs. Peter Sobotta (170 lbs) – Sobotta doesn’t even have a photo on the UFC website. That doesn’t bode well. Taylor losing would be upset of the night material. Taking Taylor to smoke the new guy.

Paul Kelly Vs. Rolando Delgado (155 lbs) – I like Rolando, but the shy kid is gonna get slaughtered by the tough Kelly.

Denis Stojnic Vs. Stefan Struve (205 lbs) – Who versus who? Holy crap; Stojnic is 5’11” & 235 lbs while “Skyscraper" Struve is 238 lbs and – get this – 6’11”!! Wow. Both have impressive records which means I’m taking the giant who knows how to win.

John Hathaway Vs. Rick Story (170 lbs) – Two more strangers with good records, but I’ll take the undefeated guy who at least has a photo. That means Hathaway over Story.
